Yvonne H. Chow

Ms. Chow is the Director of Operations and Education Director of H+ | The Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory and was first introduced to H+ through their community classes. She started professionally training in Hip-Hop Dance via The BLADE Dance Technique® (S. Thomas, 1995) full-time in the company’s annual Summer Intensive and matriculated into the full-time conservatory program thereafter to be mentored by H+ | Founder Safi Thomas. Within half a year, she rose to Principal Dancer by receiving the highest evaluation in her class. Within a year, she was appointed as President Pro-Tempore of BLADE Dance Entertainment, acquiring business and financial acumen in the commercial dance industry. Because of her outstanding performance in this position, Yvonne was then appointed to Education Director and has for the past decade, overseen the pedagogical standards of the conservatory by teaching the kinesthetics and academics, managing relations with H+ | Adjunct Professors (community leaders and progenitors in Hip-Hop and dance), and most importantly working with Mr. Thomas to redesign the conservatory’s curriculum. She was most recently appointed to Director of Operations in the beginning of 2017 to cultivate the NGO's Special Consultative Status at the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and the 27 community initiatives aimed at the majority of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for dancers and artists.
